this is today's daily office prayer service, the historic daily office of the Anglican church
Led by Fr. Michael Jarrett

Psalm 85
Psalm 71

OfficiantO God, make speed to save us.
AllO Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The following Psalms are read

Psalm 85
You have been favorable to our land, O LORD; *
you have restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You have forgiven the iniquity of your people *
and covered all their sin.
You have withdrawn all your fury *
and turned away from your burning anger.
Restore us again, O God of our salvation, *
and put away your anger toward us!
Will you be angry with us forever? *
Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
Will you not revive us again, *
that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your faithful love, O LORD, *
and grant us your salvation.
Let me hear what God the LORD is saying, *
for he will speak peace to his people, his saints;
but let them not turn back to folly.
Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him; *
that glory may dwell in our land.
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet together; *
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfulness springs up from the ground, *
and righteousness looks down from heaven.
Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, *
and our land will yield its increase.
Righteousness goes before him *
and will make his footsteps into our pathway.

The Lessons

The Lessons for Monday
Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, defend the oppressed; take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Isaiah 1:16-20

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:12b-13 ESV

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18
A brief silence is kept after the readings.
Please pause the service if you would like more time.
